Father Fulton Parker is a Roman Catholic priest as St.Ignatius Church and a secret member of the San Francisco Resistance.
Growing up in Watts in the wake of the Watts Riots and the growth of the gang and drug industries wasn't easy, especially with a father who died in some Southeast Asian shit hole. But Fulton managed to avoid the worst of it, in no small part due to the influence of his devout and hard-working mother, and the sobering example of his older brother Clark, shot down at 16 in a gang fight.
After graduating near the top of his class in high school, Fulton surprised everyone except his mom by entering St. John's Seminary. He had just been ordained and was working in the old cathedral of Saint Vibiana when the Visitors arrived. Like many in those day, Fulton found his faith challenged; by the time the Visitors were driven off, though, his doubts were gone. There was no fundamental conflict between the existence of aliens and Catholic teaching, although clearly there were more practical concerns with the Visitors' ideology. After the Visitors were driven off, Father Fulton continued his studies at the Pontifical North American College in Rome before returning to the United States.
He was assigned to various parishes in Los Angeles in the time since, interspaced with a six year stint in London, and finally ended up assigned as the parochial vicar of St. Ignatius church four years ago.
Although not a Jesuit, Father Fulton has much of that order's rigorous intellectual tradition. Among his fellow priests, Fulton is sometimes called That Alien Guy for his continued studies of what little is known about Visitor religion, and Visitor culture in general. There must be some common ground between mankind and the Visitors...
